Finally!

I have been talking about starting this blog for months and months!  I am finally doing something about it.  Here we go!

I am addicted to anything related to quilting, including fabric, books, patterns, magazines, gadgets, blogs, guilds, clubs, you name it!  My husband has threatened intervention!  In jest, of course!  He totally supports my obsession!

I long for the day that I can retire and spend every day creating magic with fabric.  Unfortunately, for at least another decade I will have to give up 45 hours a week to my job and commuting time.  I try to squeeze in an hour or so of quilt making most week days and as much of the weekend as possible.

Some quilters work on one project at a time, from beginning to end.  Not me!  If I don't have 5+ in various stages of completion, I feel I must not be working fast enough.  Sometimes too, I don't feel like working on something large, or don't have time that night, but a little bit of a small project may be just enough for me to get my "fix" so I can go spend some quality time with my incredible husband.

Here are my current projects and status:
  1. Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice mystery quilt-queen           ready to quilt
  2. Christmas birdhouse panel wall hanging                              ready to quilt
  3. growth chart panel for my great nephew                              needs binding and label
  4. Bonnie Hunter's Grand Illusion mystery quilt-queen           need to piece backing, then quilt
  5. One Block Wonder table topper                                           ready to quilt
  6. Christmas Bull's eye quilt-king                                            needs one more border attached
  7. Stained glass type quilt- king                                               blocks done, needs sashing
  8. Shop hop blocks 2007-2014 (what was I thinking!)            12 out of 40 blocks done
  9. One Block Wonder- Kaffe Fassett fabric- twin maybe?       blocks done, ready to assemble rows
Unfortunately I don't have photos of most of these yet!  I usually don't take pics until the quilt is finished.

And then there are the 30 or so more that I have patterns and fabrics bagged together and ready to go!
Sometimes I think I'm crazy, but then I realize I'm just a normal quilter!
